In March 2017, the Foundation ”Russian Carbon” within the frames of the Integrated Program for Climate Initiatives and with IT-support of Airalab shall arrange for pilot commercial deals for purchase and sale of offset carbon credits on the DAO IPCI blockchain platform. Buying orders for Verified Carbon Units from Mauritius solar project renewable energy replacing existing coal generation in the grid shall be placed on the Platform.
The Buyers shall use carbon credits on DAO IPCI platform to offset carbon footprint of their goods and services or activities.
The carbon units purchased on Blockchain Platform and not used for offsetting shall be eligible for further transactions on the Platform.
In December 2016, trial issuance of carbon units on the DAO IPCI platform has been performed. The project has been implemented in the Ethereum main network on the basis of Microsoft Corp. ‘Azure Blockchain as а Service’ cloud solution for Airalab to allocate blockchain nodes for DAO IPCI users.
